This simple dish sealed the deal on making me an Air Fryer fan. Crispy, Simple & Tasty!
Kitchen Essentials
Prep
Take your chicken wings or drumettes out of the fridge 45 minutes to an hour prior to cooking them. Place them on some paper towels on a plate or sheet tray to help get the skin dry.
You'll make your sauces while the wings are cooking.
Ingredients
Wipe the air fryer basket with some avocado oil to keep the wings from sticking.
Make sure that you don't overcrowd the air fryer. Leave a little space between each chicken wing or drumette.
You might need to cook multiple batches.
Set the temp of the air fryer to 375 and set the timer for 10 minutes.
When the time is up, turn the wings over and reset the timer for 10 minutes.
When the 2nd 10 minutes are up, check your wings for doneness.
While the chicken wings are cooking we're going to make the sauces.
You're going to toast the cashews and the hemp hearts in a steel, stainless steel, or cast iron skillet over medium to medium high heat.
I'd toast the cashews first and then toast the hemp hearts.
You can smell when they start to toast and you can see them begin to gain some color.
Make sure that you don't burn them.
When they're toasted, put them in a spice grinder or use a mortar and pestle to grind them into a powder.
When you make the Thai Chili Sauce, you're going to sprinkle a tablespoon or so of this mixture on top of the sauce.
Chop the cilantro and add it to a mixing bowl.
Add the chopped shallot to the mixing bowl.
Add the juice from 1 1/2 limes.
Add the fish sauce.
Add the pepper flake
Add the honey or the apple juice and let all of the flavors start to come together.
Right before serving add a tablespoon or so of the hemp heart / cashew powder.
Place the ghee and the Frank"s Hot Sauce in a microwave proof bowl and heat in 30 second increments.
I put some of the wings in this hot sauce and tossed them in the sauce to coat and I left some of them plain and dipped them in the Thai Sauce.
Enjoy!
